Sally Spicer and Ella comments?

Hello,

Does anyone out there have a Sally Spicer bag? I'm looking for a smallish bag, and really like the looks of the small tote. But it says "one inside pocket" and I'm wondering if that would be enough. I've also looked at the Ella bags, very cute! I'm wondering how big the Sarah is, I can't find the dimensions on the website. And the new Caroline with Sash is cute. Does anyone have any experience with these small bags?

I have the Sally Spicer diaper bag. It is cute, but IMO waaaaay overpriced for what you get. I have the Caroline bag from Ella bags, and it is cute and small, but I really miss having a zipper on top - it is too easy for stuff to fall out (I have a button closure). I think that Ella offers a zipper option now, though.

I have an Ella Bags Caroline Sash tote and adore it! I added pockets for a total of six, and it's so perfect. I'm attaching some pics. :)

Mariana - thank you *so* much for the pictures! They really help. Your bag is beautiful! You can add pockets - that is so cool! I've been checking out the Ella website a little more, it's kind of confusing. The make your own Sarah bag looks interesting b/c it says "diaper bag option", so I assumed that meant pockets/bottle pockets on the inside. Flora also looks like a nice shape. I like how your bag has the red interior and red on the strap as well. Did you specify that or did they do that to coordinate with your sash? I'm really getting excited now, I think this is just the bag I want. Thank you so much for responding!!! And esp. the pictures - worth a thousand words!

With Ella Bags, you can specify the exterior fabric you want, the interior fabric, how many pockets (0, 3, or 6), key clips, paci clips, metal feet, vinyl interior, type of closure (clasp, snap, tie, zipper, or none), etc. It's very handy!

So I selected a black bag, red interior, Girls with Kitties Sash, extra pockets, elastic on the pockets, magnetic snap, and metal feet. You can also purchase extra sashes to change them out! I also bought the large changing pad for $20, and did Girls with Kitties on one side and black on the other.

If you call them up and speak with Aimee or Andrea (the owners) they will help you customize everything you want! Very nice ladies to work with. :) Make sure you mention that you found them through the BBB Message Boards!

I'd also recommend Clutterbags, based on my experience with them so far, and others' experiences with them. I am still working with Janie on customizing a bag, but she's super helpful. I'm sure I'm starting to drive her nuts. ;-) What I love is that she's very reasonably priced. www.clutterbags.com.

I sold my Spicer bags. It was too hard to organize and I could never find anything since there weren't any compartments. It didn't even have a zipper so I was always afraid of stuff falling out. Not worth the money IMO!

I have a SS bag that I haven't used yet. I have had it for a while and it's super cute and well made. I have the messenger. I just wish it had more pockets. It has one long pocket the wide of the bag inside and that's it!

Thank you all so much for the comments. I was afraid I wouldn't like the SS bags due to lack of pockets, magnetic closure, and you guys confirmed that. Will look at Ella bags.

OMG I love love LOVE that Ella bag!!! It looks perfect. Rats, now I'll have to check them out.

I bought a Sally Spicer diaper bag & while it is gorgeous & the fabric is divine it really pretty much stinks as a diaper bag. Serious black hole effect, I can never find what I'm looking for right away. Granted this is me & I'm not terribly organized, probably keep too much stuff in my bag anyway but every time I use the SS I'm digging through it trying to find my keys, wallet, container of Cheerios that I KNOW I put in there...etc. YMMV.

Thanks Nina. I think I'm convinced now that the SS bag is not for me. I need something w/better interior pockets for my stuff, like cell phone, wallet. I'm tired of digging!
