View Full Version : REVIEW: Chelsey Henry Bags!

I had a great mail day today! I received my two Chelsey Henry bags: The Work to Play Baby Bag and a Handbag.

It was love at first sight, I am utterly impressed with these bags for many reasons, but here are a few keys things that really caught my eye:

* High-end hardware - there is nothing cheap-o about the hardware on this bag. The latches that attach/remove the shoulder strap are thick, solid, and very beautiful.
* Wipe-clean exterior - the main fabric on the exterior is nylon, which will wipe clean easily. I can attest to that because as soon as I unwrapped my precious new bag...my hubby dropped a slice of pizza on it. :)
* Detachable diaper change pouch - inside there is a removable, zippered pouch that holds the (really nice) changing pad. I can also easily fit (2) Size 4 diapers and a pack of Huggies wipes. Now, when it's time for a diaper change, I have the option of just unsnapping the pouch and going (aka - unsnap the pouch and send dad to change the diaper)!

Anyhow, Robyn already posted a great review a week or so ago, so I'll just add some more photos...

Looks like a great bag - very well organized. And I love the pink stripe interior.

Have fun!

No problem, I'll take the pics tonight and hopefully post them too. I have my sis's college grad at 9 am tomorrow, so it may not be until later that day. Go sis, I'm SO proud of you!

Anyone have the larger one? Does that one seem too briefase-like.
This tote is is really cute!

Funny how it has the same fleurville stripes, no?

Also, what bag can you compare this to in what it holds?
Does it hold as much as the mothership?

My wardrobe is jeans & sneaks so would this bag be too fancy for me?

Thanks!
Deb

I'd consider the size more Medium than Large, unless you remove the changing pad and use something smaller or a disposable, and then you can fit more stuff in. I'd say it holds about as much as a Marsupial or Skip Hop. I transfered all my Skip Hop contents to the Chelsey Henry bag and still had some room to spare.

I don't think it's too dressy for a casual wardrobe, personally. My wardrobe is pretty casual, and I feel like it helps me look a little more put together. :)

The Bumble Bag is the "Jessica" size in the Pink Pucci fabric.
The Chelsey Henry bag is the "Work to Play Baby Bag" in black with lime trim.
The SKIP*HOP is the Denim Duo.

Bag looks really cute.

Thanks,

thanks for posting those photos. that totally helped visualize the differences in size (and stuffability) of all 3 bags. for some reason i was thinking that the work-to-play bag is much larger that it really is. i still like it though. i'm thinking i could stuff enough baby things in it.

now if i buy the CH bag, i'm thinking of gettng a large bag for those all day/weekend outings. you know what that means...gotta start another thread for larger bags. LOL!!! can you tell that i have a little obsession running wild this week?? ;-)

i forgot to ask -- is the Alpha 7 pretty much the same size as all of those bags you've posted??

Yeah, the Alpha 7 is about the same size, a little smaller. It's definitely a little smaller than the Bumble Bag and Chelsey Henry.

Nice bags! Is the handbag a purse, or does it have pockets inside too and can be a small diaper bag?

lmariana

It has similar pockets inside, but no bottle pockets. It would actually make a good small diaper bag. If I put all my normal purse stuff in there, I still have plenty of space for a diaper or three. I'm a light packer though and have a tiny wallet, so take that into consideration. :)

Very pretty! I love the interior, and was not sure about the exterior until I saw the comparison pics. Now I am second guessing my SkipHop purchase. :-( I so need to leave this forum, lol!!!

How did your sister's graduation go? I hope you enjoyed being there and celebrating!

I think you'll be really happy with your Skip Hop! I have one and adore it! (Actually, I'm on my fifth Skip Hop; I love to change colors.) Be sure to use the Skip Hop on shopping carts, that's my favorite place to use it!

The graduation was amazing. Great speaker, short ceremony considering there were 775 December undergrads, and very touching. :) I'm so proud of her! She finished her degree (International Affairs and Modern Languages) in 3.5 years, and still graduated with "high honor" from one of the best schools around. Now, if she could only come to grips that it's time to find a job...she'd be set!
