I am itching for a new bag. I love my LE Little Tripper but would like something with a little more personality. I want something about the size of the LT, and with a longer strap that can be worn messenger style (definitely no totes - hate 'em). A zipper or other secure closure (not a tie or button) is a must. The Alpha 7 really interests me, but I'm not willing to pay $120 for this bag - more in the $50-75 range. The Kecci is too big for me.

Anything out there that might fit the bill?? Or should I start gluing rhinestones (just kidding...) to my LT??

ETA: I have a small and medium Timbuk2 and they not quite what I had in mind. I guess that I want something a little "girlier" too.

Hi Lori,

I've been feeling the same way. I purchased a new LT (I currently have a really old style one), but decided it's not different enough and it's going back. I just bought this Tumi messenger in brick (the color shown). I knew the Tumi baby messenger and baby tote were too big for what I'm looking for, so I thought I would try this. I'm undecided though. Pros: love the color, leather strap/accents, nice looking, would definitely have a life post baby. Cons: no outside bottle pockets (this may not be a con for me though.), $99 (down from $175 though!), may be a little too big. I don't know. I'm having a terrible time deciding. Maybe I don't need a new bag!

Good luck!

Would a flap/velcro closure work? I'm thinking a custom T2 Messenger? The Small is slightly bigger than the LT. It can be worn messenger style. There are also the T2 Graphic prints too -- various stores carry different prints:

There is also the T2 Cargo Tote, which has a zipper (not sure how big this is IRL): http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=47883008&parent_category_rn=40003646&

There's also the One Cool Chick messengers -- they are brocade, but might be more than you want to spend at this point. There is a OCC co-op on right now. They don't have a zipper, rather a magnetic snap closure.

Lori

What about a one cool chick small messenger. The sizing is 10x10xx4 so I think that's close to the LE and they are definitely girly. I'm a tote gal but they look gorgeous. You can check them out at http://www.onecoolchick.com/messenger.html

They are normally $135 but there's a coop over on the yahoo diaperbags forum that makes it close to what you're looking for.

Hi!

I'm still a little new to these boards (I love them! I'm learning so much!) and expecting my first child in April. For years, much to my husband's chagrin, I've had the typical purse and shoe obsession. It thrills me to no end that now I can add diaper bags to my list of obsessions!

So I'm wondering about how this co-op business works. I've seen the posts on the Kecci co-op, but how do you find out about these other ones going on, like the one cool chick co-op mentioned here? I need to get in on the action! ;-)

Thanks!
Michelle (first baby due 4/2/05)

Mmmm, Alexis, I think that I like those. But the larger one is calling my name - only $15 more than the small, whatta deal! I deserve it this week, right? ;)

The other one that I found that is a candidate is the Lands End Medium Tailored Tote, which is pretty new.
