I lurk here a lot and don't post that often, but I wanted to post a quick review of my new Lands End medium tailored tote diaper bag. I was looking for the following features:
-adjustable messenger bag type strap but without traditional messenger bag flap over the opening to the bag
-zipper closure on main compartment but some outside pockets
-medium size (I consider myself a light packer but have a DD who likes lots of snacks and toys on the go)
-pocket on inside for wallet, pocket on outside for keys, cellphone pocket somewhere
-place for sippy cup

Here's how I pack it:
Main area:
-2 size 4 diapers, disposable changing pad in ziploc bag, and small package of wipes on the bottom
-2 small board books, toy cell phone, snack-trap, and rubbermaid container with graham crackers in the rest of the space
-there's a bit of extra space on top if I need to cram in something else

Inside pockets:
-one side has a small zipper pocket for my wallet, lip balm, etc.
-other side has two larger mesh pockets: one is my "Restaurant" pocket and holds a ziploc with a few crayons and some paper for coloring and another ziploc with disposable placemats, disposable Bibsters, and a few Take-n-Toss forks and spoons; the other is my "Cleanup" pocket that holds hand/face wipes and some tissues

Outside pockets:
-front left has cellphone pocket which fits my phone well; I also keep a paci in a ziploc bag in there
-front right is where I stick my keys (the pockets are quite deep so I don't feel too worried about sticking my keys in there - note: this bag has a key fob, but I've never really gotten into those)
-back left and back right pockets are kept empty so they can hold a sippy cup, my coupon organizer, our reusable placemat for eating out, or whatever we might need for a particular trip

Anyway, I have found others' reviews on this site so helpful, so I wanted to give back! Hope this helps someone.

Jenny - thanks for this review. I have been waffling on this bag because the LE site offers so few details on it. Would you mind doing me a huge favor and measure the strap? It sounds like it would be long enough for me to use messenger style but I would love to know for sure before ordering this bag.

Thanks!!

Could you possibly post a picture of yourself with the bag on? Thanks for your review!

Another thanks for the great review.

Could you please post photos of the bag, particularly the inside and the back? I love LE products, but their web photos SUCK!

Also, did it come with a change pad???

TIA!!

Sure; I'll take some pictures and post them when I get a chance. There is also an older post on this board that shows the inside and outside of one of these bags. The strap is quite long -- about 44 inches. It's longer than most straps I've used. If you hang it from your finger and measure from your finger to the top of the bag, that's about 23 inches (does that make any sense?). Yes, the bag comes with a changing pad (it has a zip area for wipes) and also one of those bags that all LE diaper bags comes with (for dirty clothes, I guess).

Do you also have a small bag like the little tripper, or is this it?

Let me see if I manage to paste these pictures correctly...

Here I am with the bag messenger style (I am about 5'2" if that helps) and some closeups of the bag.

Ugh -- the pictures show up huge! What can I do to make them look normal size? Thanks!!
