I am helping a friend pick a new diaper bag, sight unseen for both of us. She is leaning towards the LL Bean diaper bag, but wants to make sure it can be worn messenger style.

She already has a LE LT but needs something a bit bigger. I think the LL Bean bag sounds like it would work for her, but I haven't ordered on yet (still struggling with color choice -- what would I do if they had more colors to choose from, LOL!)

TIA

Yes, it can definitely be worn messenger style. I find it more comfortable to wear that way than my A7 or my T&L. Everyone is different though :-).
The strap is adjustable & gets really long...so I think it would work well messenger style even if you're pretty tall.

I agree - the strap can get very long so it could be worn messenger style. I've been using my bag for a week and it's been wonderful. It's very comfortable to carry - I carry it as a shoulder bag, not messenger. I was using a Mothership before, and carrying the Bean bag is like night and day - it's very light and compact. I've been very happy with it.

Anyway, sorry - I get a little carried away when talking about bags I like :)

I've passed along the info to my friend -- I'm pretty sure she's going to get it.

I think I need to bite the bullet too, LOL! Hmm, what color to get, what color to get?!?! :)

Do you think this bag could work for a newborn and a (hopefully) potty-trained 3.5 y/o? I don't have to carry too much for the older child, but I do have to bring a sippy, snacks, and Epi Pens for her peanut allergy.

Thanks!

I'm a very plus-sized mama, and even I can wear it messenger style. :)

It's the perfect bag if you need something larger than the Lands End LT, in my opinion!

I think I am going to love it!

Colleen I think the LL Bean bag would work in your situation. I got the bag and at first thought it was going to be too small for our 2 year old and newborn but after packing it up I was suprised how much it can hold. Especially if you will only be carrying diapers for 1. We will still have both kids in diapers and I think this bag will still be big enough for all the necesities. I packed 4 diapers for each child, a wipes case, a small infant tylenol, gas drops, small tube of diaper rash cream, small purell hand sanitizer, an change of clothes for the newborn, a smallish receiving blanket, a baby hat, sippy for oldest, 3 of the tiny rubbermaid cups of snacks, a couple small toys, and my keys. I could have gotten a few more small items in there but it was packed fairly full. I will be breastfeeding so if I am using the bag bottles won't be an issue but there was still room for a couple of bottles for when my husband will be out with the baby.

I also think this bag would work for a newborn and 3 year old. I bought it and then decided it was too big to use with only my 15 month old, but I suspect I'll buy it again in a year or so when we have baby #2.
