So I'm in the market for my first diaper bag. And I've researched and read the posts about all the different favorite diaper bags. But I just have to know, other than the occasional co-op, where do you experts buy your diaper bags? Mostly online, after seeing one IRL, a great shop near your? Any hints?

I live where there are NO better baby stores, lol. Most of mine are purchased online. Lands End and LL Bean from their own sites. I do also try to give business to many who are especially helpful to the board members. For diaper bags, I love:
Jen at www.expressivetoys.com
Mariana at www.happydaybaby.com

Bigger online etailers I like for those things plus other items (like strollers :-)) are:
Marilyn at www.arunningstroller.com
Brian at www.travelingtikes.com
Michelle and Kit at www.baby-outfitters.com

Others:
AlbeeBaby- http://store.yahoo.com/albee-baby/
Lakeland Baby- www.lakelandbaby.com
ETA- This last little group, plus www.buybuybaby.com are favorite stores that also have web sites. They are all near or in NYC so we go when we travel. :-)

I had such a bad diaper bag addiction, that I had to go pro. :) After many, many diaper bag purchases from such awesome retailers as:

www.kidsnstyle.com
www.missfitzinc.com
www.diaperbags.com
www.brownsonfifth.com
www.babyoliverboutique.com
www.expressivetoys.com

...I decided to open my own shop to support my sick addiction. :)

I'd also give my business any day to...
www.strollandgo.com (my #1 choice for strollers)
www.ella-bags.com (design your own bags)
...they are wonderful people and have awesome products. :)

Have fun shopping!

I don't have many bags (3 since DS was born 15 months ago), so I am very picky that the size, organization, and feel of what I buy be exactly what I want. During my recent search for a new bag, I ordered and returned 3 bags from LL Bean and Lands End, reminding me why I usually see bags IRL before I buy. Luckily I was able to return them to the local LL Bean store and Sears--if I'd had to ship the bags back, the round trip postage would have cost as much as most of the bags. I tend to do a lot of research online, and sometimes I make a special trip to a baby store or department store that I have found carries the bag. My new favorite (local) place to buy bags is Buy Buy Baby. A lot depends on where you live, I guess. I live in a metropolitan area where people seem to spend a lot on baby products, so I can buy almost everything locally.

To get the best rates from the Internet, go to www.pricegrabber.com and click on "Babies and Kids". Then you can put in any brand name of bag you want to search for, and they'll give you a whole list of different websites with the best prices. This is the best website of comparison pricing that I've ever seen!!

Thanks ladies for the great suggestions. I appreciate the web suggestions and I am lucky enough to live near a buy buy baby to see some in person. I already know there's no such thing as 1 bag, but I'm trying to avoid complete addiction!
