View Full Version : OT: Lunch bag for me!

That doesn't look like a lunch bag.

I almost always brown-bag. So far I've been using an Eddie Bauer bag that's very nice and practical - but screams "LUNCH-BAG!!" It is definitely at the end of its useful life, so I'm looking for something fun and new. Preferably in a print. The antithesis of the super-conservative black leather Coach briefcase I carry :)

I'm considering this

http://www.mimithesardine.com/BAGS/Bags.html

but none of the fabrics really appeal to me.

Also (but this might be too large)

http://everafterstore.com/blue_polka_dot_medium_tote_bag.html

Possibly this

http://everafterstore.com/white_daisy_small_tote_bag.html

Any other ideas for bags, perferably under $25?

ETA:

Other than this is not a print, I really like this one. Definitely more grownup than the others, and it's insulated.

Nita,

I like the Elle bag! Very stylish! I also like the 2nd one you posted as well. I found a couple that I liked when I was looking for lunch boxes for DS when he started Mother's Morning Out.

http://www.lunchboxes.com/chinese.html

I think the Icky lunch totes are really cute.

http://www.peaceloveandpizza.com (then click on accessories and scroll down to lunch totes and click on that)

I also did a google search for oil cloth bags, since I think you could probably put in an ice pack and it wouldn't leak (at least I don't think it would! ). Here is a link to one bag that I found. It comes in different patterns.

HTH and good luck!

LOL, I had to read your post twice to make sure I didn't write it myself, lol

I also have the very functional and practical EB lunch bag that has seen better day. It is also in a boring navy. So I'm glad to see your post and to get other ideas. I like hot food so I tend to want a big enough bag to pack the plastic container(s)

These are what I have found quickly...

Not sure how it would work, but it sure looks interesting. Byo Lunch Bag comes in red, blue, black and orange http://www.totalhomestore.com/home/servlet/HomeServlet?action=ViewProduct&productId=639&Campaign=SHOPPING-com

Another look of the Byo neoprene bag http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-0034183-3397758?asin=B0002XO4VQ&AFID=Shopping&ref=tgt_adv_XSC10001&ref=tgt_adv_XSC10001

Vinyl cover type of bag http://www.pajamasseenontv.com/cosmeticbags.html Navigate around this site to see the different styles of bag and patterns

This is not bad as it would look like a purse, but still boring and quantity to order is over 100, lol http://www.logoclick.com/WIDE_MOUTH_COOLER.htm

Insulated bags/system. Still boring but at least if you want insulation, you can get the Lunch 'n Go and just use any nice bag http://www.warmandtote.com/buddie-cart.html Don't know, might be reaching ;)

More Icky Babies lunch totes http://www.achildscloset.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPRODGROUP&ID=1707

This one has potential and there is a store near me http://www.addedtouchstore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=6772U&S=GA

Elle has this one too http://www.flaxart.com/f/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?MainCatID=485&catID=61&sl=0&productID=4975&Style=1

Anyway, the search goes on

Those are cute!!

This is more than I want to spend, and not a real lunch bag, but I love the pattern.

WOW!! Thank you both, for all the links! I think I'm going to go with one of the Elle bags - they do seem to be very reasonably priced, and fit all my other requirements. The BYO neoprene bags are cool, but NMS. Same for the Icky baby - very cute, but just a little too cute for me. I'd get them in a minute for DS, though.

Now I have to decide WHICH one!

No real suggestions besides checking Target, but wanted to say-

I MISS SEEING YOU ON HERE!!!!!!!! I know you have had a rough go of things, many hugs sent your direction! I hope things are better, and I just miss seeing you around here (and with dial up, I am not around as much myself). We need to still do lunch, maybe as the weather warms up we can brown bag it at a park somewhere. :-) Give lots of hugs and b-day wishes to Neel also, I can't believe he is TWO already!!!!!!

I hope the link isn't old. It's $20! :)

After looking around a bit, I found more Elle Essentials lunch bags. There appears to be 7 different styles of lunch bags http://www.cosmoda.com/elle_html/work.html. If you run the mouse over the images, you'll see which ones would be the lunch bags.

The only thing is now, where to find them?

Tam,

Ebags has some of the styles, though not this one, which I like the best:

http://www.cosmoda.com/elle_html/march_2004/ll251.html

I can't find any retailers for that style when I google it. The picture I posted in my first post is from www.ebags.com . Ebags has free shipping - but I don't know about Canada (that's where you are, right?) Also, if you go to www.fatwallet.com there is a $10 off a $25 purchase for ebags.

ETA: There's a Canadian seller on Ebay with some of the tote versions:

OMG!! THANK YOU!!
I think I'm going to get this and one of the Elle bags. Given that I use this five days a week, I'm justified, right? :)

Just email me or call me when you're ready to come to do lunch. We can sit by the Bay. :) And thanks - I love having a 2 year old, but I do wonder where my baby went! :)

The thing is that Cosmoda appears to be a Canadian company, based in the metro area where I live. I'm trying to get the low-down from Cosmoda on the retailers in my area that would sell them. I'll keep you posted unless you have decided to get the one that you posted and sold on ebay.

Yeah, the ebay.ca seller seems to be selling older models. Thanks for the fatwallet.com reference.

I will contact you re: lunch. That would be something fun for me to look forward to these days. :-) I here ya on the baby thing, mine just turned 3!!!! He is such a big boy these days, I have to stop myself from calling him the baby. Happy and sad times watching them grow I guess. Glad Neel is well though, I love his new avatar, even looks like a little boy now too, no more baby face!!!
