View Full Version : Bag to hang over stroller handles?

I want something moderately small that will easily hang on my P3 handles. With or without caribiners. A Skip*Hop is an option, but I'm worried I would not like the lack of a zipper. I tend to throw the bag on the front seat of the car, and stuff would fall out. Also, could someone clarify- with the skip hop do you have to actually change stroller straps to a shoulder strap each time, or can you leave both straps on, and just let shoulder straps hang while it's on the stroller? Does the new expo zip closed at the top?

My other choice is LE Little tripper. Can it be hung easily over P3 handles?

Any other ideas of bags that would work? I like a zip top and hate a flap top.

Thanks!

Not that this might help you but, my girlfriend has and older P3 and at the time bought the PP bag to go w/it and she loved it. Mined you it was $20 back then.

I don't know how other bags would hang, just wanted to let you know that with a Skip*Hop, you DO have to change it from shoulder to stroller every time, no way could they both stay on. You might think about a new Skip*Hop Dash or Expo...you might find that one of these will take care of the stuff falling out problem.

You can see the new ones at happydaybaby.com or expressivetoys.com

Here is a discussion on bags that can hang on the stroller handle(s) -- well sort of ;) http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=63&topic_id=20655&mode=full

A messenger-style bag with adjustable shoulder strap would allow you to hang it off the handle(s)

I have a LE Little Tripper and a P3. I make the LT shoulder strap as small as possible and hang it on my P3. It works but not great. The LT still slips down every so often, it's annoying. I'm holding out for one of the new Skip Hops. The stroller doesn't tip over though with the LT packed and baby out of the stroller, so that's a plus. The LT is also easy to access on the stroller.
For everyday use I really like my LT but I'd like something specifically for my P3 as well. You could use carabiners but real ones are expensive $5 or more a piece plus it's a hassle to put them on the stroller (I tried them out at the store). I'd really like something that would quickly come on and off without much fuss.

The pics of the new Expo looks like it just velcros closed for the main compartment of the bag though the side pockets zip closed.

Cherry Pie Bags (ebay seller, also has a website) makes boutique-style diaper bags with stroller loops:

I have a Maclaren Techno (which I think has the same type of handles as the P3, but I could be wrong). I use a LE Medium Tailored Tote most of the time (and have a Little Tripper do and have done the same thing): I just hang it over the handles (I sometimes have to shorten the strap a bit to make sure it doesn't drag). It works just fine!

I have a 2005 P3, and I was able to use carabiners with my SkipHop, so that I can hook the bag to the gray plastics things on the handles, while keeping the shoulder strap on, so that when I take the bag off I don't need to change the strap. It's working pretty well. Obviously the bag doesn't slide down at all because it's secured by the carabiners in the gray plastic things.

Good luck!!

hobokenmom - where do you hook the carabiners to the skip hop?

Hi. Please don't flame me for having a red skiphop on an orange stroller. I bought the skiphop to go with my E3, and I'm not buying another one.

Here are some photos of how I jammed the carabiners through the fabric so that I could leave the shoulder strap attached.

I use the LE Little Tripper quite frequently with my P3, but I don't use the shoulder strap. I use the plastic links for baby toys (or you can use carbiners) to connect the shoulder strap hooks on the LT to the gray hooks on the P3....works great, perfect size, easy on and off. BTW, I remember reading somewhere that the Expo zippers closed at the top. HTH!

I keep them on the skiphop, because it's a little hard to get them on and off. Also, at this point, I don't reallt change diaper bags too often.
