I am looking for the best diaper bag that won't slip off my shoulder - or dig into my shoulder. Something super comfortable to carry around for long periods (if need be!). I'm guessing that a messenger bag is best (which I have one of) but am looking for other suggestions. Does it matter that I usually am wearing DD in a sling (usually a Hotsling).
TIA!

I do alot of walking with my boys during the summer and needed something that wouldn't dig into my shoulder too. I found this one:

I just got it last week and it is beautiful. It has cloth straps and it doesn't dig in at all. I haven't had any problem with slipping either, but we haven't gotten to use it for walking yet this year.

Wow! Those are really pretty! And I like the style, since they don't look like diaper bags (I want to suggest it to my non-mommy friend who would love it!).
What are the pockets like? Is it big enough for your needs?
Thanks!!

It is the perfect size for my needs. It is a little bigger than it looks in the pictures (I thought it looked small) and it's really good size for everything I need for a 2 year old and a 4 year old.

It has 6 pockets inside - 3 on each side of the bag. They are perfectly sized for diapers, lotions, etc. There is one other pocket that is higher than the others that is designed for a bottle.

The appeal for me is that is really doesn't look like a diaper bag and could easily be used for other things. I think the gal that makes them custom makes each one so you could probably eliminate the bottle pocket if your friend wanted to or it would be a perfect place for a bottle of water.

Do you have any pictures to post of this bag, especially the inside?

Thanks!

Have you seen the OCC messenger at www.onecoolchick.com? The shoulder strap is adjustable and includes a very comfortable plastic grip pad that kind of grips your shoulder or clothing. Not painful, but helps keep the strap in place. The bags are great and definitely do NOT look like a diaper bag :)

This is the Nappy bag by Amy Butler right? I just bought the pattern off ebay but haven't made it yet. Can't remember if it had interior pockets though!!! I think it's neat!

Check out the Loom diaper bags! They come in some great colors and do not slip at all.

The Periwinkle Baby bags look a lot like the Posh Baby Day Bag. Link below. Scroll down - it's underneath the Diaper Bag.

I wonder if it is the same size or if it just looks similar. I've noticed Periwinkle Baby posting on Craigs List a lot lately. Looks like a good deal since you also get a free blanket until 3/31 and the bag is cheaper than the Posh bag.

Someone asked for a photo of the interior of the bag so I am attaching one. I typically carry...

- One full sized tub of wipes
- 3-5 Size 1T Diapers
- A change of clothes for my 2 year old
- Diaper rash cream and anti bacterial soap
- A coloring book and crayons
- A toy or two
- A sippy cup and some ziplocs of snacks
- A cloth diaper
- Either a sweatshirt for each boy or a blanket for the toddler

Can I ask where the bag hangs when you wear it on your shoulder, if that makes sense? Would it hang too low for a shorter person? Thanks.

I'm am 5'5" for reference and the bag hangs right on my hip. The arm opening is 14" if that helps at all.

Caroline- Just a note- thanks for the post you gave me a while back with the sewing machine advice, it was very helpful! I think I am going to get one of the Brother machines, they look like the best for the money. Let me know when you make the nappy bag!

How about a timbuk2 tote...based on their classic messenger but in a tote style and also has a shoulder strap. My dh just picked up a medium and large classic messenger, and he loves them, wants me to use the medium for a diaper bag, but I really dislike the messenger flaps...find them annoying. I thought that bag would be perfect in a tote style though and was very happy to see it does come in a tote and it sounds like it has a few more pockets inside than a messenger. Not a very pretty bag, though.
