If you are looking for a convertible backpack/messenger style, you may be interested in this bag 14x14x6"...much better color. This bag also looks like it has been discontinued from the timbuk2 site, and I think it was the only backpack style they offered.

Thanks for this tip--the convertibles are quite nice and a good shape, not too squarish. Had never really considered the T2s, but this one is intriguing...
