I can't tell from the pictures on their site - can you unhook both sides of the bag straps?

Also, can this be comfortably worn acorss the body?

yes, you can unhook both ends of the bag straps.

i often wear my Duo messenger style (across the body) and sometimes just over the shoulder. my DH solely wears it messenger style. it's comfortable either way, at least for me.
