I hadn't seen too many reviews of the Jack Spade bags and wanted to share some thoughts. I got these bags from ebags.com, but they have since sold out (?!) of all their messengers. You can still get them from jackspade.com and the Dad Field Bags from modernseed.com (add Spring321 at checkout and get 10% off!). Just in time for Father's Day :)...

First up is the Dad Field Bag in Black. Measurements are 14.5"Lx12"Hx6"W. I love the clean look of this bag! The only pockets on the exterior are two zippered ones on the side of the bag, which are for wallet, cell phone, ipod, etc. and one long pocket, running the length of the exterior. It even has a little hole for your headphones! The bag is very well constructed, using a canvas fabric. Ergonomically designed strap with easy-adjusting buckle. Lift the messenger flap (velcro closure) and there is one simple flat pocket.

The interior is in gray (but in the navy and tank/green field bag, the interior is orange!). There are two non-insulated bottle pockets on each side, two "tall" pockets in the front interior and one zippered pocket that runs the length of the rear interior. Lots of space for stuffing things, but no matter how much you put in, the bag looks very stream-lined.

Since I didn't get an orange cord A7, I felt like I still had a hankering for an orange bag. Luckily, ebags still had an orange square messenger available. Exterior is very similar to the Dad Field Bag. It has the two zippered side pockets for wallet, keys, etc. and also the pocket which runs the length of the exterior. But in addition to the messenger strap, it has a grab handle. Very handy! I find myself holding the bag this way a lot.

Lift the flap and there is an organizer pocket, for Palm Pilot, keys, etc. The main compartment just has the back zippered interior pocket. I put 2 dipes, A7 changing pad and a few disposable bags in there. I have my DS's meds, small bag of toys, coin purse, sippy, 2 snack traps, one big snack container, another bag of snacks, with room to spare on top for when I need to put DS's bottle in there. It's really my "quick trip" bag, for when I want something a little more streamlined than my other bags (my Loom Marsupial is the closest thing that comes to this "cool" in looks). The size of this bag is proportioned better for me (9.75"H x 4.5"W x 13.5"L). I was going to wait for the Skip Hop Dash to come in an orange - but with the velcro issues still being sorted out, I didn't know if any new fabrics would be offered soon. Also, the exterior shape of the Dash hasn't really "called out" to me...it's cute - but I wanted C-O-O-L!

Ok, so I got both bags on a whim, figuring that I had enough bags to last a lifetime, so they were going to go back. DH took one look at the Dad Field Bag and said, "This is pretty cool as a briefcase for me...and I like the orange on you...Ah...keep 'em both..."! Still haven't decided, but it's nice when you have DH's support to enable your addiction even further ;)...

Great mini review Audrey, thanks! Love love LOVE the orange! It looks very well made and quite roomy for its dimensions. If I were you I would keep it ;) I had looked at Jack Spade bags before, but now that I have seen IRL pics I am lusting after them that much more!
