ScotchGuarding a PPB boxy backpack?

New here :-)

I am about to buy a PPB Dynamite Roll tomorrow and read on here somewhere while doing a search that someone ScotchGuarded it? Has anyone had any success with that? What/How did you do it?
I also read the success story of washing the bag with rolled up towels in a blog and will keep that info on file, but was wondering about the ScotchGuarding. I'm afraid it would discolor the silk?

Well, I just Scotch-guarded this exact backpack, so I hope there is no problem with it - LOL! :) I just followed the instructions (spraying 6 inches away after shaking the can well) and laid the bag out flat on a clean towel in our well-ventilated laundry room). I took the straps off, unzipped the diaper changing pad (removed that as well), and did 2 very light applications about 12 hours apart. I did put a towel in the bag to keep the shape more square and have access to the bottom and corners of the bag.

The bag feels a little stiffer - an extra added bonus!
