Hi Ladies,

I am currently looking for a smaller diaper bag (toddler bag) that can pass as a purse but have organization also! If that makes sense! :) I have a FL sling tote at the moment which I love but we are taking a trip to Europe/Asia and I'm taking my son's big Eddie Bauer diaper bag as a carry on and need an additional bag which I can use while I'm traveling the cities since I don't want to carry the big EB bag around!

Any suggestions!? I would carry the following: 2 diapees, wipes, 1 disposable bottle w/ 2 liners, sippy cup, a small container of snacks, small container of formula, my wallet, cell phone and thats it! I know that seems like a lot now that I'm writing it down! :)

I've thought about the 2 red hens hen bag which is cute but the fact that it doesn't have a zipper I'm a little skeptical! Any thoughts? We'll be in London and other Asian Cities...so need something that will also hang off my britax umbrella stroller.

Thanks a bunch ladies! I know most of you are really knowledgeable about this! :)

Hi,

I just posted this in another thread, but check these out:

It has a cell phone holder on the strap.

Good luck,

I traveled throughout Singapore and Malaysia for a month and took my Skip Hop Duo with me. It was the perfect stroller hanging bag (I took a Mac Triumph with me), and had enough pockets and storage to hold what I needed for baby, plus my own wallet and cell phone. HTH!

How about a Timbuk2 Metro Mini or Small Messenger? The Metro mini has one bottle pocket on the side. Neither have fantastic organization, but since you're not carrying a lot, there's not much to get jumbled in there. I recommend the TImbuk2 bag because they are super durable, comfortable to wear, hang on any stroller, are waterproof, and are reasonably priced.

I haven't tried the Timbuk2 Cargo Tote, but that may be a good option as well. It's the same as the messengers, only with a zipper top instead of a flap and tote handles in addition to the messenger strap.

Other than that, I think a Skip Hop would also do well, but may be a little larger than what you're looking for.

Hope this helps!

I was going to suggest the Chester backpacks, but since you mentioned that it needed to double as a purse, that may not work out for you. I loved the fact that when I needed to pack it, the backpack rolls up to about the size of 2-3 pair of socks! But maybe one of the classic totes or the diaper tote in nylon fabrics? The yahoo babybags board may have some for sale.

Another thought was the Ellington small in-flight tote. Not as glamorous to carry as the ST, but it sure would get the job done - particularly as a toddler bag...tons of pockets, bottle holder, etc. It folds practically flat for travel. You can check them out at www.ellingtonleather. com (no spaces). Hanging off the stroller may be a challenge, but I was about to hang mine off my stroller by just looping the handles over the stroller bar(s).

How about a T&L small bebe?

I love my Overland Equipment www.overlandequipment.com bags. I have both the Donner and Placer. The Donner makes a really nice toddler/purse combo and it's not really a diaper bag so I often use it as a purse. You can find good deals on these at shoebuy.com and ebags.com

Oooooh, Priscilla! I like those! Good call. I'd pick that over the T2's because of the bottle pockets.

This may be a little too sporty for you, but try the Lands End Little Tripper. It's been my everyday diaperbag since DS was 15 months (he's 22 mo. now), and it's just the right size to fit what you listed. The Lands End site doesn't give enough information about it, but outside there are 2 external bottle/sippy pockets, a front zippered parent pocket, and a back slash pocket with a changing pad. The main compartment has 3 mesh pockets, including 1 which fits a few diapers and a wipes case. Enjoy your trip!

Just a quick note to warn you about SnazzyBaby:

I bought a bag from them in March. It took a full month for them to send me the wrong bag. I sent it back immediately and asked for a refund. I STILL haven't heard from them!!!

I'm convinced they're thieves!

I agree. The LE LT is similar in size to the Overland Donner and half the price. For a trip where the bag might get a fair bit of abuse, plus you'll be seeing it everyday (so you might not want to see it for a while upon your return, LOL!), I think the LT is a great choice. Very durable and just the right size for what you want. I used mine when DD was a newborn, then packed it away for a few months when I carried more. I've been using it lots after she turned 1 and I carry fewer things. I like mine so much, I ordered a second in a different color. If you order it and don't like it, you can always return it to your nearest Sears store or back to LE.

Have a great trip.
