Looking for a bike seat for DS

I am looking for a bike seat for my DS. He is currently 8 mos old, almost, and we are hoping to bike with him occasionally. How old do kids have to be to sit in these seats? Which are the safest and most liked? Any additional info is appreciated as we know nearly nothing about this topic. TIA!!

I don't know if there is a specific age at which it is recommended, but we started biking with my DD at about 8mos. She absolutely loved it and the bike seat had a five point harness so she was quite secure. We couldn't afford anything fancy so we got an inexpensive Bell seat. It works quite well for us.
