Hi girls,
Does anyone have the One Step Ahead Grab N Go bag? I just got my catalog last night, and really like the looks of it (in black, that is, I don't like the fact that the camel bag has a black strap). My DS is out of diapers, but I still like to have a little space for a sip cup for him when we're out, and haven't found anything else that comes close to my vision of the bag I want. But I'm having a hard time swallowing the $50 price tag, plus the $10 they want to ship it. Would love to hear anyone else's reviews, or suggestions on something you think might be what I have in mind. I haven't bought a bag in a year, so I'm totally out of it now!

Thanks!!

You might want to look at the Swagg by Silverline:

IMO it's cuter than the OSA bag, but looks around the same size, plus the Swagg can be a backpack or messenger style.

Price is more, but with free shipping (on purchases over $50) at

Hi Nancy,
I found a similar one on the QVC site that I think I'm going to order (along with a Swagg, I'm getting sucked in again!)

Thanks for the links!

If you get the QVC one let me know how you like it.Let us know about the Swagg too. I really want a new bag but can't decide since it's not as much choice when you need a small bag. Like you, I don't need a "diaper" bag but want a bag I can carry a sippy,snacks and my stuff in.I like a bag with lots of pockets.It makes me feel like I can be organized.LOL

Jessica:

If you haven't already ordered a Swagg (I have a Fling on the way), here's another small bag. Not as cute as the Swagg IMO, but cheaper;

I got one from QVC.com, I can't seem to get a link to post b/c it's javascript or something, but it's the Travelon Microsuede Cross Body Dual Organizer Shoulder Bag, item # F10887, in Moss. It would probably work for what you need it for. I love that it has an outside cellphone holder, and there's tons of pockets and nooks&crannies in it. You could use one zipped pocket for kid stuff and teh other for mom stuff. I really like it, although I'm still looking for the perfect one, because for me, this isn't it. :)

Thanks for the update.I'm still looking for that perfect bag too. I have one I'm making but as slow as I am designing and sewing it I won't have it done for a year.LOL

Yep, I think I'm going to break down and make one myself as well. :) I'm on a quest for the perfect corduroy, though. I'll make up the pattern, but I have some cord in mind that I've seen and now need to track down.

I just love corduroy. The bag I'm making is navy blue cord except for the flap which is tan,brown,burgandy and blue cord wide stripes.I bought the stripe cord last winter but never made bag so at least I started it this year. I started with the Butterick pattern #4560 but I cut the size down a lot and changed a few details.I'm using hidden magnets to keep flap closed(I hope) It's about 20 separate pieces of fabric not counting the interfacing.It's been a pain but hopefully will turn out good.
