I know this is a really odd question but I read that they are made of microfiber. Is that like fake suade?

Some of those fake fabrics (like the fake velvet one) give me the willies!

No, it's not a fake suede at all! It's more like a smooth, dressy type of fabric. It's fabric, but it's got a bit of sheen to it.
