DH is wanting a diaper bag that he wont "feel like pansy" carrying. I think his ideal bag is a canvas messenger-style mail bag, but with more compartments and pockets. He almost bought a mail bag at old navy, but decided it was too floppy and didn't have enough organization. I'd love to find something for him for Father's Day. Hit me with your suggestions! Thanks, Jenn

2 words--Skip Hop!

The Dash, Duo and Expo are all messenger style with lots of pockets and come in "manly" colors.

HTH!

I would definitely recommend a Dash (and not just because I'm selling mine ;) My husband hates that I buy so many bags, but he even said that he'd use that one as a work bag if I didn't like it as a diaper bag. It has great organization and you can machine wash it and it comes out perfect. I'm only selling it because I want a new bag and my husband will kill me if I don't sell some first. If you're interested, my email is amwaltt at yahoo dot com. Depending on how much he'll carry, you could do a Duo too, but I had one and didn't like how tall and narrow it was. If you put anything in the interior pocket, it almost blocks off the bottom of the bag. But some people love it, so it's all subjective. There is also Kecci, who makes a few nice "daddy" bags (but don't get the Adventure bag - it's impossible to get into. I had one and returned it), or a Diaper Dude. I think Browns On 5th has a category called men's or dad bags. HTH!

I bought my husband a Skip Hop Dash in black. They also have a camo print, but I didn't think my husband would be into the camo print. I am giving it to him on Father's Day so I can't tell you how much he likes it.

take a look at the JuJuBe Men's Messenger. I bought it for us to share. I got the orange/tan. You will see good pics of the interior pockets on expressivetoys.com. It has an afterlife, moreso in my opinion than the Skip Hop. My husband said he would definitely use it.

I bought my DH the Mustard Sprout Marshal bag. He loves it.

Not a great picture but you get the idea.

If he really likes the floppy bag from Old Navy, what about providing it more organization with some of the accessories you can buy for a bag. There are great changing bag kits that provide pouches and a change pad, or deluxe change pads with pockets for quick changes. Even a shaving kit bag (less than $10 many places) can organize the stuff easily in their bags. My dh doesn't like the looks of the (SkipHop) Dash or Expo, but doesn't mind the Duo. He also liked the style and organization of the Diaper Dude bags, mailbag style, but lots of pockets and spots to stash things. Timbuk2 bags are liked by alot of moms and dads on the boards, but you can have custom organization added.

Bags, here are all kinds for men and women, great pictures though:

Candice - how large is that bag? What would you compare it to? I saw good pictures of it some place and it looks really neat.

We love the Baby Sherpa. It runs about $80 and my husband loves to carry it. He sats the best part is the built in cooler on the bottom. It is very organized too! Check it out at www.babysherpa.com

I have my husband keep a navy land's end little tripper in his truck. It's older style, but I don't know how the new ones are organization wise...

I got my DH a Lexie Barnes Darling in Stealth. It is black with a red interior. It is really nice. Not too big with a lot of pockets. It is also light weight. I got it on discount since they came out with their new prints.

My husband loves our skip hop in blue camo - it's his fave. We also have a black dash, duo and a pretty kecci and he reached for the camo every time.

It's big enough for DH to pack for two kids.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I just gave him a Skip Hop Dash in Olive green with orange trim. He says he likes it, but only time will tell. At a minimum he wont have to feel like a pansy anymore!

Dad Gear has great bags designed especially for Dad. They even have "REI" style fleece vests that are meant for diaper duty. My husband has a vest and loves it. It has lots of pockets, places for snacks, diapers, etc. and even has a changing pad in the back and it just looks like a fleece vest. It's a great "non-pansy" look.

There has been some buzz about the Overland Equipment bags lately. These are not diaper bags per se but some have used them as such. There are different sizes to accomodate different needs. I am currently eyeing the Prosport.

I have to say the DJ bag by Fleurville. Although I did not see if you had a price limit in mind. They are pricey at about 120.00 but very stylish and organized for a dad.
Check them out.
