After running after DS all weekend w/o DH i decided i *needed* a backpack purse but structured, not a black hole, not huge, etc. I stopped after work tonight to see which "sale" ones our store had and snagged one that's red. I should see what the pattern is! I packed it up after I came in and already used it tonight and LOVE it! Why did i wait so long? And this is after I bought a Longchamp smallish purse a few weeks ago. I love that when i'm at work but I can see "needing" the backpack on weekends, etc. Fortunately I use wristlets, etc so i can quickly swap 'em out!

How do you think this would work for a quick trip diaper bag?

Perfect, I think!

I love the outer zipped pockets - perfect for keys, cell phone, wristlet, etc and then you can use the larger inner section for stuff for the kids!

There's 2 outer zipped pockets, one on each side plus two bottle pockets (cell phone fits perfect!).

Laura which one is it? How are you liking it after a few days now? Does it have pockets inside too?

I saw one of the moms at the school with one the other day. She uses it as a diaper bag and figures her dd can use it as her backpack for nursery school. It looked like it might be fun and practical! I am not a backpack girl usually but even I am leaning towards one of the VB ones. :-)

I love it! It's Nantucket Red and it's the backpack w/ the zipper vs. the drawstring. There's a zippered pocket on both the front and back outsides, 2 side bottle/cellphone pockets and then the larger main compartment has 2 slip pockets.

It's large enough for me to shove spare undies and shorts for DS (though haven't need them in ages, i just know i'll need them when I don't have them!) towards the bottom of the bag and then my wristlets, notepad, misc other stuff around it. It's lightweight, has a carry handle, adjustable straps, etc.

If you look for a retired pattern you can usually get at least 20% off. One store by me was offering 50% off retired patterns but it was the drawstring type.
