Hi! I am due in November, and I'm totally overwhelmed with lots of things, including diaper bag choices....can you help with any suggestions for my first diaper bag? I would like something with a little bit of style to it. I'm sure there will be other bags in my future, but I need at least ONE before Baby Girl gets here!!!!!!! Thanks!

Don't stress. Unless the hospital that you deliver at has banned gifts from formula companies, (assuming you're delivering in a hospital) you'll get one free from the nice folks at Enfamil or Similac before you take little one home. They're not stylish, but they work just fine.

You might want to wait & see how you use that one before you spend $$ -- I thought I was going to be a heavy packer & need a huge bag, turns out I'm not. I have a medium sling bag and a Skip Hop changing pad/diaper/wipes tote thingy. My bag is rarely packed full.

I think a Ju-Ju-Be would make a perfect first diaper bag.

Big congrats! I love my Skip Hop Duo Glam! Functional but cool & attaches to stroller.

Not too expensive either.

i have LOVED my healthy back diaper bag. it has a million pockets, has a contrasting color inside so it's easy to see everything, and it's super comfortable to wear. it's basically a black backpack, so DH doesn't mind using it either.

here's what it looks like:

good luck!

Skip Hop Dash in denim. Very functional, attaches to strollers, can hold a lot, has a cute red interior.

First, Congratulations! You'll need a lot of room for newborn items (lots of diapers, diaper cream, changes of clothes, bibs, blanket, wipes, formula and bottles if you're going that route, your wallet, keys, phone, sunglasses and essentials, etc...). I've either owned or seen most of the bags I listed below, so feel free to ask questions! HTH!

****For a very functional bag, the Skip Hop Dash.

WOW! Thanks for so much information! I think I'm going to take the one they give you at the hospital, and then shop around for a ju-ju-be all, that's my favorite so far!

Under $100, I'd go with a Pottery Bark Kids Ultimate diaper bag or a Skip Hop bag. Both are around $60-65. The Skip Hop is nice b/c it clips onto a stroller. Otherwise, I think the PBK is better in every other way.

If you want the really funky prints, you gotta go up to a Ju-Ju-Be or a Fleurville or one of those $150+ bags. They're really nice bags despite those price tags. If you can live without the funky prints, the PBK bags seem nearly identical in general design and materials (not the glossy plastic material, but that smooth fabric material).
