I have followed this family since the beginning of their process to adopt, we have corresponded several times and I have so enjoyed watching them via journal...

They are in Ukraine now, and have done a fantastic job journaling their experience!!!!

This link takes you straight to the Ukraine journal...but check out the rest of their site...

For those following their story and who know that they went over there for two children (we actually have really followed their stroy since we hope to do much of our process and traveling etc... just like these two) they have found their daughter...and just found their son...

Edited to say NOTE they have this as their "2nd journal", so if you don't see it right away, back up on their stie and look to the left column and pick 2nd journal

neve,

thank you so much for turning us on to burke and michelle's site. i look every day to see if they've been able to update their latest adventures. adoption is not something DH and i have considered, since we just started our family, but maybe some day this will be a direction our family takes. lurking in the adoption area of this board and reading burke and michelle's site has really made me think about all the children and parents whose lives are forever changed by this experience.

i wish all of you planning to adopt the greatest success in attaining your family's goals.

cheers,
amy

Amy,
I'm so glad you liked their story...I have read atleast 30 adoption stories but you can tell who has a good trip and who has bad from their attitude I think. Not to bash the ones with a bad attitude by any means it is stressful you can tell in many situations (I'm speaking of Ukraine and the lack of preselection)...but you can just see how easier it is for some. As I read these I have really had to realize many people in the US have not even traveled outside of their state let alone Ukriane. so when people are freaking that McDonalds might not be a town I have not been able to relate to them having traveled all over...but it sure has been interesting...

I loved their last line "treat it like a camping trip and you will be happy"...:)

anyway I'm glad you enjoyed it...they appear to be special folks!!!

Neve,

I have to run and take a shower while Mia's napping (oh how things change when you have a baby in the house again) but I saved their site to my favorite places and will look at it later.

Still praying for you and your kiddos, both here and in Ukraine,
