I've loved reading the blogs listed on here, but are there any more? It's addictive reading each family's journey to find their child.

I believe www.thestoryofyou.com has many blogs. Also, my agency www.FTIA.org as well as other agencies lists family adoption stories.

tucked into Christine's site she has several couples journies...I think in the right hand column...look around their on the home page...she also tries to update folks there now :)

Keep in mind thier journals are actually getting their referrals while traveling and not going with children in mind so if you notice that conversation in the journals keep that in mind...

I did join the yahoo group (thanks for that suggestion)! But I don't know what you mean by "Christine's site"?

In reading the blogs so far, I've found it really interesting that they don't know anything about the child they are planning to adopt. And in fact they barely meet the child before they move forward with plans to adopt. I find that exciting and scary!

I'm typing one handed with the T'ster in lap...
yes adopting in Ukraine you do not get pre selection, you get your referral when you travel.
Now with that said, I would never even begin to stear someone one way or another my moto is "to each their own", but with that said if I (meaning Neve) got a picture of a child, a referral, and showed the world the child I was adopting then I actually am also not really meeting them.

One has to make certain processes are for them, for me I have no doubt but I know many many many who are not interested in traveling for their referral. Only you will know what is right for you, it will come to you!!!! Whatever route you'll take you'll reasearch it more than anything, it is addicting, draining and joyful all at the same time....

I meant to post Christine's site. I must not have...I'll find it and come back and post...

and I describe the referral process exactly as you have scarey and exciting.

My best friend adopted from Guatemala and her experiences couldn't be further from mine, we spent 3 days with them lasr week camping and compared notes it is amazing how different the processes are. Her daughter is beautiful!!!

Thanks Neve!! You're the best! I am loving reading these stories! I was crying (with joy) at reading one of the stories and my hubby came in and saw me- all he could do was hug me. :)
