Hi all,

I haven't been posting here lately because it's been too depressing for us lately. :(

Lily's case is significantly delayed because of problems in Guatemala. We were randomly assigned a useless social worker who was finally fired or quit, and now the new one is insisting on repeating some things that have already been done. We had hoped Lily would be home by now, and at this point, I do not have any idea when she will be home.

I've gone through all range of emotions at this point. So, we are now just going to keep visiting her every 3 months until they finally let us leave the country with her. We're planning on spending her 6-month birthday with her in Guatemala next month.

Hope everyone else is doing a lot better than we are!

Holli

Holli,

I know I wrote to you personally, and I so hope I wasn't one of those people that asked stupid questions. I just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you and I consider the people on these boards to be "friends" and sometimes I just get overanxious and feel the need to help my friends.

Anyway, have a GREAT trip to see Lily next month. Give her hugs and kisses from all of us, and know that we are waiting for her to come home too.

:) Beth, I almost wrote you directly to tell you that I was NOT referring to you! You would not believe how many "strangers" from that list emailed me to basically ask how to avoid my problems. I was touched by your note; theirs were just making me bonkers!

So, how far into the process are you?? Are you going for it? I can't remember!

Holli, I am so sorry. I saw an adoption from Guatemala on Adoption Stories the other day and thought of you.

Have a wonderful trip and I hope you get lots of cuddles.

I'm so sorry! Hopefully, things will go unexpectedly well, just as they can go unexpectedly poorly. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I always enjoy reading your posts + I hoped you were too busy getting ready to post recently. I hope everything gets ironed out quicker than you anticipate + you are able to bring Lily home as soon as possible.

I am so srry to hear about your delay. I know how frustrating it can be. My son and DIL just arrived home with my new GS from Guat on Thurs. He will be 6 months next Thurs. They too had a setback when they were in PGN. Apparently their police reports did not match word for word and had to be redone. It seemed to be forever before they were back in and then all of a sudden they were in and out and he was home. I know the waiting is awful but just look forward to those visits. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope she will be home sooner than you expect.
