I have a friend who is attempting to adopt her first child. She has already gotten almost everything off her registry at BRU and I'm looking for tips on a good gift to give a couple who is adopting. I know there are a few good books out there, but I was wondering if anyone received or wanted to receive anything else that this couple might not have thought of yet. TIA!

There are some really nice looking CD's at www.adoptionmusic.com I know I'd love to have.

Congrats to your friend! Is she adopting internationally? If so, there are a lot of online stores out there that have gifts from specific countries, which would be a unique. You can also find a large selection of books at www.tapestrybooks.com (but purchase at Amazon - much cheaper!). Depending on when the baby is coming and how comfortable you/they are that all will work out, Christopher Radko has a yearly adoption ornament, as does Hallmark. Finally, I received one of these when DS arrived and I really love it. There are two versions, one just a poem and one a poem and slots for 2 pics. I have the poem only version and there is a slot on the back of the frame for the parents to insert a letter to their child that they can write on the child's first birthday (not sure if it's on the other version, but I'm sure it can just be added on).
