Dd is a very "busy" baby. Her hands, arms, legs & feet are always moving. And of course when she does rest we certainly don't want to risk waking her to cut her fingernails.

We've discovered that laying her on her back and having someone do "sparkle" fingers (or whatever) over her mesmerized her enough that she just lays still watching, long enough to get her fingernails clipped without struggle!

Any other tips?

I have found it easiest to do on my lap- I have DS sit up with his back on my chest, and distract him with something on TV like Sprout. It's easy to hold his fingers with one hand and cut with the other at this angle, as your arms wrapped around him holds his arms down too. It's also harder to flail his legs sitting up like that! Hope it helps!

I've had success when my daughter is in her highchair with some Cheerios for her to pick up - thank goodness she'll use either hand to eat, still!
