We are blessed with a baby that has slept well since he was a couple months old, but now at 8 months, I feel we will do well by introducing a schedule and sleep / eating routines.
My initial thought is to begin a before bed routine at 8, and put him to bed at 8:30, expecting roughly 12 hours of nighttime sleep.
Then I'm thinkg naps at noon and 4 p.m. or thereabouts.
For our bedtime routine, we're thinking of cuddling, a book and singing a song to our boy. Maybe this would be a good time to introduce changing into PJs (he normally sleeps in his day clothes) and a comfort object?
If I do only 4 feedings per day, will that be enough?
What suggesions should I think about?
Note, after hitting about 8 months and becoming an accomplished crawler, our good sleeping boy was becoming harder to settle down. We did the Ferber CIO method for 2 nights now and he has done well with it. His longest crying period was 15 mins, and he seems to be doing better falling asleep on his own.
