I'm expecting my first baby in Sept. We plan to probably have the baby sleep in a co-sleeper in our room at first, use the crib for naps, and probably eventually transition to the crib at night too.
The room that the crib is in has 7 windows (2 walls are all windows). It gets beautiful sunlight during the day, but I'm worried about the amount of light that comes in from the street at night. We have blinds, but not room darkening blinds and it doesn't really get very dark in there even at night. Do babies need darkness to sleep well? Any advice about the necessity or lack of necessity of darkening the room and/or how best to do it would be greatly appreciated!
