View Full Version : any resources for parents of ADD 3 year olds?

i am losing it and i don't want to go anywhere "official" because i think he is too young for a "real" diagnosis/treatment. but i need HELP!!!!!

Why not meet with a physchologist or psychiatrist? They can really help! You can find out if you really could be dealing with it (though, like you said they can't diagnos it till school age officially) and what early interventions there might be. No sense in getting worried if they meet with him and say that he is within the realm of normal, right? :)

If he is in preschool the teacher or director can help you find someone to talk to. Actually, they could be a good source too just in general.

Dr. Sears has a book on the subject, if you really are just looking for information.

We went to a psychiatrist for ds when he was 3 for behavior issues at preschool (hitting, biting) and it was so helpful and reassuring. I am really glad that we went.
