I am getting so frustrated. My 3 y.o. DD listens and responds to my DH much more effectively than me. My DH keeps on telling me that I have to be more authoritative (which I agree) and I am trying but am wondering what else I can do? I try to be very firm, yet calm, consistent and follow-through on all threats of punishment (e.g. time-outs, no bubbles today/stories before bed/etc.) I am wondering if it is because DH is a SAHD and clearly the "primary" authoritarian? Even so, is there anything I can do to change this? I need to be able to have my children respsect and listen to me both when we are all together or when I am alone with them.

Thanks in advance!

Edited to say, I skimmed my "Kids are worth it" book by Coloroso last night and I am appalled at how I/we sound above. It is sooo easy to slip into how we were raised. Any advice would still be appreciated!
