About to go digital...any suggestions on the best value for the $

I want to get a digital camera, finally! Can anyone recommend anything that they own or know about that is Awesome?

I have a sony that I absolutely love but it might not be for everyone. A lot depends on what you want to do with your pictures, your camera knowledge, and what you want (point and shoot, good indoors vs. outdoors, movie capture, a particular type of media to record on, etc. etc.)

Without knowing what you want, my best recommendation is to check out the website http://www.cnet.com you can compare them side by side and shop by price or feature categories. Right now is a really great time to start shopping for a camera, I'm sure there will be good deals on the day after Thanksgiving!
