For those of you traveling, I found the Ready bed toddler at costco for $19.97. Just put it up and DD is play sleeping in it. I hope she sleeps in it at the hotel. Has anyone used it? What do you think of it?

We used one for the first time at my in-laws this weekend. DD is still young and the house is not toddler-proofed well enough for her to be alone to explore, plus the stair railings are nowhere near to current code, so we put it inside a toddler tent from Target to contain her.

She did just fine, and the bed worked great. Just don't forget to get batteries for the air pump!! :)

Thanks, for the tips. What tent did you use? No batteries needed it came with a hand pump.

Amazon has a Care Bears one for $7.48 w/free shipping. I think they also have a Bob the Builder one for around $10.

Those are great deals! But what's the difference between a toddler ready bed and a regular ready bed?

In the Camping Section of some Targets, there will be a clearance section with $9.99 sets of Tents that are part of a set (ours was a 5-in-1 Explorer set). We've used our tents twice on vacation already and Kaya really enjoys sleeping in her tent. When we were in a hotel, we just put the tent on a bed and put a bedspread or sheets/blankets on the inside and she slept in there. When we were at our destination, we put the tent on the floor and put the ready bed inside. Since she's used to sleeping in a crib with a crib tent, we did put pillows in the extra space (the tent is wider than the Ready Bed) in case she rolled off. Here's one picture of her in her tent. Sorry it's a bit fuzzy, but it was taken through the screen of the tent:

ETA: As you can see, she's not quite ON the Ready Bed, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. :D

Edited to remove picture.

I'm pretty sure that the regular ready bed does not have the side "bumpers" and may be a little bit longer than the toddler ready bed.

First of all, Eileen, that picture of Kaya is adorable.

Okay, on to the DEALS!

I listed two Ready Beds in the big Amazon deals thread yesterday. The Care Bears one was $7.50 (free shipping), but it's sold out.

The Sponge Bob one is $9.98 (normally $30) and includes free shipping. You can get it here:
http://tinyurl.com/kwc2s
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0007OGW92.01._PE67_OU01_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg

You can also still get a Care Bears Ready Bed, which is half-price at $14.98 but doesn't include shipping. Shipping adds $7.xx, bringing your shipped total to $22.xx.
http://ec3.images-amazon.com/images/P/B0007OSKXS.01._PE50_OU01_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg
http://tinyurl.com/s6qke

A third option (the one most like Eileen's tent/bed combo) is this: They sell a tent with a Ready Bed already in it!!! The Batman version is on sale for $10 (was $40). Shipping adds $8.92, but it's still a deal at under $20 shipped as you don't have to buy each item individually.

So cute!! I see Lambie made the trip!

For the OP, Maddy sleeps on her regular "Rella" ready bed at my parents house, they put it on the floor in their room. We don't have the battery pump, but my dad has a giant air compressor that blows it up in seconds. The hand/foot pump is nice, just takes a while.

Hope that helps!!

Thanks Jo and Christy. And yes, can't leave home without Lambie. In this case, the one you can see all of is Baby Lambie and she says a little prayer ("Now I lay me down to sleep..."). The one next to it that is much more grungy is "Lambie" and he is sorely in need of a bath, but it may not be possible to ever get him white again. ;)

As the pp mentioned, is the Sponge bob ready bed a "regular" ready bed or a "toddler" ready bed? This is getting a bit confusing. Just wondering if the Costco bed is better or the Amazon one for a 2 y.o.

Sue, the Sponge Bob bed pictured on pg 1 of this thread is a regular ready bed. The toddler ready beds have a "headboard" and a "guard" on each side, which the Sponge Bob bed does not.

If your two year old is in a bed, s/he would probably be okay in the regular ready bed. Mine is still in a crib and I think the headboard is nice because it gives her something to snuggle up to. However, in the end it is just an air mattress and even the guards on each side aren't going to be 100% effective at keeping an active sleeper contained. For example, see the picture of Kaya also on pg 1.

here are pics of the regular and the toddler versions. FWIW, they are both about the same size and only 6" high, so I don't think any dc would get hurt if they fell out. I don't know this fo sure though!

here are pics of the regular and the toddler versions. FWIW, they are both about the same size and only 6" high, so I don't think any dc would get hurt if they fell out. I don't know this fo sure though!

I bought one, too. I also bought the Sponge Bob bed, the Little Tikes Mainstreet Playmat, and the pool. I really only need the pool right now for DS. There are always birthday parties that we'll need gifts for (and Christmas). I couldn't resist for that price! I need to cool it, though. Seriously!!!
