YMMV...

I was just in both Walgreens & Winn Dixie a little while ago. Both stores had Tender Harvest jars marked 50% off. They were in a cart near the front cash registers at Walgreens (I cleaned them out!). At Winn Dixie, they were in the usual spot. The selection at Walgreens was limited, compared to Winn Dixie.

Also, Winn Dixie had several different kinds of Enfamil and Similac marked 50% off, though I'm not sure which specific kinds.

HTH!

I believe Gerber is discontining glass jars - - so I have seen sales at our local supermarkets too (Genuardi's and Acme).... but they FLY off the shelves at 1/2 off!

Yes, you are right. I wrote to Gerber about finding their Tender Harvest product, and they said they were coming out with new plastic jars. YUK!!!

I made quite a bit of DS's food when he was an infant, but also bought some. If they switch to plastic, I will sooooo not be buying Gerber next time around. ICK, ICK, ICK.

ETA: My local Target in NC had already fully changed over to all plastic from what I could tell :(

What is it about plastic jars that you all don't like? I make my own, but am just curious as to why the preference of glass over plastic.

There are reports on FW of Tender Harvest organic foods being .26 per jar at Target.

FWIW, I'd start checking ALL your local stores if you use this food. Since the jars are being discontinued they will most likely go on clearance everywhere.

Yes...I went to 2 Targets yesterday and many of the glass Gerber and Tender Harvest jars were marked to 50% off...some were even less. I got several 2 packs of strawberries/bananas/apples for 8 cents. No joke...the little orange stickers literally said 8 cents. The rest were all between 26 and 28 cents. I cleaned both stores out of what they had except for the dessert jars. Then, I later went to a local Winn-Dixie where they had several glass jars of Gerber there for half off as well. Not all of them, just a few.

I don't like the environmental aspects of plastics all that much, but my major concern is that we try to avoid storing food in plastic (which is especially important to me with a small child). Plastics can leach chemicals like pthalates and other lovely things into food, and I'm personally not comfortable with that, especially for a small baby.

Still normal priced, unless I missed sale ones. They did have some 2 packs of apples/cherries for $.5X, but that was plastic ones.
