We're toying w/ playing up the love of trains around here by taking the train to MIL's for thanksgiving. We just don't feel like driving the 9 hours each way.

Any good offers out there?

I highly recommend finding out if they have "on-time" statics for the route you want to take. I took an Amtrak train from Boston to Detroit once to avoid a 12 hour drive by myself -- well I think the train ride was supposed to be about 14 hours and it turned into 22 hours!!! It was awful & super crowded. It was at Thanksgiving and there were delays at every station. Also, they stopped the train in Toledo and were busing people the last segment from Toledo to Detroit! Thankfully I just got picked up in Toledo to avoid that fiasco.

Just make sure you know what you're getting into before attempting a long train ride with a child during the busy holiday season.
