It should work. It has worked for me each time they have run the promotion for the last year and a half (about 3 times). Usually you get to choose one train out of four, but this time we get little Percy and his mail car.

Thanks, I didn't know about this recent deal. We just purchased cranky, so this will work out great. I have recieved trains 2 times in the past from this sort of a promotion and it is always great getting a $3 train.

Not to be a total downer, but if everyone does this without a receipt and hasn't actually qualified for the promo, I'm sure that these types of promos will vanish in their entirety. I remember the frenzy on these boards over the Garnet Hill "deals" last year and think taking advantage of something "free" is one reason stores have such draconian return policies and legitimate customers will lose out on bonus deals such as this. Just a thought.

It could be a concern, but I am not too worried. I usually get my reminders of these promotions off of another bargains board. I think it gets A LOT of traffic, probably more than this board, and so far, they keep offering the same deal. It may change in the future, but for now, it should be fine. Besides, if the Thomas the Train people practically give away one train a few times a year, I am sure they will sell gazillions more to those families who received that train. These things are addictive for toddlers (and Mommies - in my case).

One thing to remember, my previous trains have taken a while to arrive. I think it's something like 4-6 weeks before they ship. They arrive USPS in a yellow mailer.

I just checked my CC statement for the past 2 months and they have not charged me for the item, even though I have a confirmation #. Maybe they are waiting to get the receipt/proof-of-purchase? I need to try and find my receipt...

8 weeks from the first day the offer was available is December 10th. I wouldn't start to worry until mid December (assuming you filled out the form on October 15th). The page clearly states 6-8 weeks for delivery.

"Purchases must be made between 10/15/06 and 1/31/07 and request must be postmarked by 2/28/07. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery."

I did this last year and it took forever, but it came. In fact I had completely forgot about it. It must have been 8 weeks. I figures for 2.99 it was worth a chance even if it wasn't legit. I was so happy when it came, one stocking stuffer out of the way. I am def. ordering this year.

How funny I was going to post about this yesterday and didn't have time. I just recieved the Thomas train yesterday from the Promotion in November, and the Percy one was in October. I ws worried that something had happened, but good to know that they are just behind. The package from the Thomas train was labeled diecast express for those of you that are wondering about the charges. I'll have to check my cc too.

I ordered Percy, but not Thomas. I just got an email today saying that my credit card was declined (when it actually expired between the time that i placed the order and when they tried to process it today). They included instructions on how to resubmit the order, so i guess they're processing all of them now!

I got Thomas yesterday. He is much smaller than in the picture. Oh well. I guess he was worth $2.99. I can't imagive paying more than that for that little train. DS isn't big enough for the whole thing yet, but I figured I'd start now and wouldn't be hit with a huge bill for the whole set later. Oh well, maybe I just don't know the wooden railway figures yet and he really is as he should have been.

All of the wooden railway engines are roughly the same size. If it was bigger, it would not work on the wooden Brio/Thomas type track sets.

Just a quick update for anyone still waiting... i wrote in last week because i ordered Percy back in Oct or whenever the deal was first posted, but my cc had expired by the time they tried to charge it in Dec. They instructed me to update my cc and reorder it, which i did, but i ever heard anything back or got charged.

In their reply last week, they said they're awaiting a new shipment of Percy's, so they're still filling orders. So if you haven't gotten yours yet, it doesn't mean you won't!
