Regal, AMC, and several other theatres have programs to show FREE second-run movies ~ such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Nanny McPhee, Happy Feet, Elmo/Grouchland, Muppets/Space, Charlotte's Web, and Over the Hedge ~ throughout the summer! This is an AWESOME way to entertain the kiddos in air conditioning!!! It is also a great way to see if your kiddos are ready to go see regular first-run movies. :)

Regal has 2 movies (a G and a PG) to choose from and offers them on T and W at 10am ~ no discounted concessions. AMC has one movie only on T's (I believe) at 11am and offers discounted kiddy popcorn and drinks! The Consolidated theatre also shows 1 movie/week at 10a on T, W, & TH and offers discounted concessions for kiddos. The MA/RI has a summer program as well ~ not sure of their details.

AMC ~ http://amctheatres.com/smc/index.html

This is another one that is in the South ~ http://www.consolidatedmovies.com/

This theatre is only in MA and RI ~ http://www.nationalamusements.com/programs/spf.asp?page=2

Hope this helps someone! It has been a LIFESAVER for us!! :) Happy summer!

Cool.

FYI AMC is on Wednesday at 10am, not Tuesday.

Wow, what a cool deal. Too bad we do not have any of those theaters in our area.

Check your local theatre's website. You never know... :)

I am so glad that others can take advantage of this ~ It is such an AWESOME program!!

You need to arrive early to the theater to ensure you get a seat. One day we went, there were 3 separate teachers trying to reserve 30 seats each (the kids had not arrived at the theater yet). I was close to blowing my top & plopping down in the middle of their "reserved" section, but I was able to find some seats.

Actually, I did check and cinemark has a program where you pay for it. It's the regular price for us, since it's a dollar theater, but I guess it's that they show movies in the morning that is the biggest difference.
