After being inspired by a thread in the Around the House forum (http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=12&topic_id=22538&mesg_id=22538&page=), I made my first no-sew fleece blanket yesterday.

It turned out so cute that I want to make lots more for baby and holiday gifts. Does anyone have a recommendation (online or B&M) for a great place to buy fleece? I used an embroidered fleece from JoAnn Fabrics for my first attempt, backed with a solid. I really like it and saw another embroidered fleece (girlier) that I want to go back for to make gifts. I didn't like many of the printed fleeces they had at my store. Most looked kind of blurry and cartoonish, but that may have just had a bad selection. Anyone have a good fleece source to recommend?

Thanks!

Walmart believe it or not! Especially since the colder holiday season is here....they have a pretty large selection and the price isnt to bad, about 7-9$ a yard from what I remember.

Also, I would check back at JoAnn's because I remember last year them having a HUGE selection and when I just went there they didnt have a lot but were getting more in as the season is just starting. They also have some ready to put together kits for about $14.99 and with coupon (if you get their flyer) its a great deal (7-8$ which is a great deal for a complete fleece blanket). The patterns are hit or miss on the kits but last year they had some cute kids patterns and in the flyer I just saw it looks like they have a few other types of kits to choose from. Unfortunately I didnt get to see them in the store since mine is closing and will be replaced soon with a super joann!

Watch for sales, you can often get a yard for $5-7 on sale. I have found the best prices at Hancock Fabrics. I have never bought it on line, but am going to soon.

I have made a number of these and they hold up very well. They are fun to make.

Definitely Walmart! And Joann's, try there again! I have quite a few JA's not too far from me, but there's also a Joann's ETC, which is their superstore, and they have the best selection of everything. Check their website to see if there's one near you, it's worth the trip! Also, try Hancock's Fabrics; I've never been there, but the girls on another sewing board I'm on are always talking about it.

Good luck! I've never made one of the no-sews, but I may have to try now!
