Anybody use a family tree software program?

I've got a huge family on both sides and thought it would make a great project. I was hoping someone had some experience with a particular software that they could recommend.

I use Legacy -- I tried a handful of programs and like it the best. And, the standard edition is free! Plus, if you decide you don't like it, you can export everything you've already done into a GEDCOM file that you can import into a different geneology program.

I use Personal Ancestral File. It's free at www.familysearch.org. To me, it's got all the essential stuff to keep track of your research, so i just can't justify paying for another program.
