I was wondering if anyone knows of plans for building your own sand and water table. I may be over-thinking it, (maybe it's a dishpan in a rack), but my dad is great for building things. Any suggestions?
TIA!

If you search google for woodworking plans sometimes you can find what you are looking for. I know they have all sorts of plans for kids things. Good luck. It doesn't look too hard.

In this months family fun magazine there is a really simple plan with plumbing pipes and elbows and a big bucket to fit inside. I've persuaded DH to try to make it.

Hi Wendy,

Is it in the June or July edition? I don't think I have received my July mag yet. Thanks!

It's in the July/August edition. I can't wait for DH to try to make it, hopefully before summer's over!!

Yep, that's the one that I didn't receive yet. I just got the June one last week!

not exactly a perfect match, but should give your dad a good head start...

My parents came to visit with the Family Fun article in hand. DH and my dad put it together over the weekend. DS loves it. We put water in ours, but sand would work too. DH said the Home Depot run cost about $20.

That's so cool, Wendy! You'll have to post pictures when it's finished. I wish I could persuade my dh to try it too, but he would never go for it. What a great idea, and it didn't look all that complicated.
