Can I decorate Take &Toss cups with Sharpies?

It seems like it will work, just looking for BTDT advice. I am probably just going to write their names on them. And it just has to last as long as the party :) Any tips for making it loook fancy?

From experience in, umm, hastily scrawling DD's name on one because I can't find a labelled one or a name tape (she enjoys the fine motor challenge of peeling off the labels), I can tell you it works, but if you can find the liquid-ink sharpies, those work WAY better than the normal ones.

All our Sharpie labeled bottle etc stay labled for a week or so. Maybe I am crazy, but the silver one lasts the longest and I like how it writes and looks.
