I am trying to wean a little (roll eyes...) and want to make sure my little guy still gets in enough milk. Right now we are breastfeeding, so of course I have no idea how much he is getting. I couldn't find this info in any of my books, so your help is appreciated. If it matters, my DS is 23# and getting close to 1 year old.

It all depends on your child and their appetite and how much solids they are taking. At that age my DD (who was on formula plus 3 solid meals a day) was taking in 20-24 ounces a day of formula. But I think anywhere from 18-30 ounces of formula would be considered "normal" for that age. And I wouldn't worry about a few ounces in either direction.

Our ped told us that DD only needs about 15oz of milk when we asked at 12 months app. Now, little over 13 months, she is taking 16oz of cow's milk. She eats well, and likes water, so this seems like good amount.
