do they get it? how easily? we gave lauren ice cream on one occasion, and sorbet on one occasion, and just a little because we were scared she was getting brain freeze. she did kind of make a face and touch her head like she might.

Truman had his first brain freeze just the other day! He is now taking much smaller bites! I wouldn't worry about it too much. I see it as a sort of rite of passage, along with skinned knees and stubbed toes. Nothing you seek out, but can't really be avoided.

DH and DD were eating ice cream a few weeks ago and Caley started to cry. I came dashing in to see what happened and DH said he thinks it was just a brain freeze moment. She was fine after a couple of seconds and she eats ice cream pretty frequently (did I just admit that?). I wouldn't worry about it - I think she'll let you know if she's really uncomfortable.
