Well, he's insisting on feeding himself and it's so frustrating. He used to eat pureed broccoli off a spoon, but now won't let a spoon near his mouth nor will he eat the broccoli spears that I put in front of him.

I also haven't been able to get him to eat any protein. I tried cubed chicken, kidney beans, and turkey lunchmeat. he just picks them up and throws them on the floor. If I (or DH) try to put anything in his mouth, he clamps it shut.

Today I cut up some kiwi and put it on his tray and he wouldn't even touch it. He also wanted nothing to do with green beans (he didn't like those pureed either, so that was no surprise). Yet he goes CRAZY for baked sweet potatoes and steamed carrots. He'll also eat watermelon, grapes, pears, and apples.

I am going nuts. I know I need to relax about it all and he'll eat when he's hungry, but still!

Any tips?

Deb,

Do we have the same baby? I am having similar problems with Ellie.

She loves watermelon, cheese, crackers, bananas, yogurt, other types of melon, oatmeal, and rice cereals, but is refusing things that she used to love: peas, sweet potatoes (really any veggies). And I have tried pasta again and again to no avail. Tonight I tried to tempt her with shells & cheese--she threw it on the floor, LOL!

And any type of meat, forget about it! I am interested in some advice as well!
