We are almost out of formula and are trying to decide how much to buy (that is, whether to buy single cans of powder or buy the giant 6-pack of cans at BRU). DS will be 1 year old on November 12, but his 1-year checkup isn't until November 22. I'm hesitant to put him on milk until he has his checkup, so I have at least another month of formula. Here's my real question -- once your DS/DD switched to milk, did he/she go "cold turkey" off of formula, or did you find yourself mixing milk and formula and/or rotating milk and formula at feedings? I'm just trying to figure out if we'll still have a need for formula after we go to milk. WOW! That was a really long way to ask a simple question! :) TIA!

You may have to mix milk and formula for a few days, weeks or even a month. Some babies can go cold turkey, but most need some transition time. But a giant 6 pack of formula cans sounds like too much, unless you don't mind donating the excess.
