OMG - I am SO sick of trying to clean out food stains from clothes!

Does anyone have any suggestions for bibs??

I have some bibs - just the typical, but I thought I had seen someone that had bibs that looked like shirts that tie around back???

I have a 6 month old DD who has recently started foods.

Any ideas??

TIA,

my new favorites are the "generic" brand from TRU. i abandoned the plastic shirt bibs b/c DD protested me putting them on her. the TRU bibs are longer, cloth, and i use them to wipe her face once we're done eating. we'll see how they hold up - - it's only been a month or so.

They are expensive but a great investment (I thought)

I love the ones with full sleeves that tie in the back - come in lots of cute patterns.

That's what we use, the long-sleeved with elastic at the wrists. I bought them from www.kidsurplus.com . Great investment!

I know exactly what you mean - I remember spending so much time dealing with food stains!

Now I have both the Bumpkins one that I carry in the diaper bag for eating out (small/lightweight) and a few from www.abetterbib.com for use at home. I love the ones from A Better Bib but more importantly, my DD likes them and willingly wears them. She really prefers them to plastic bibs.

It wont save from stains on sleeves but we have been using the Baby Bjorn plastic bib for months now. It has a very deep and wide pocket. It catches anything DS misses or spits out of his mouth. It really works great and I highly recommend it.

I fed Logan naked (just a diaper) for a long time. :)

We still do if we are having spaghetti.

For bibs, I like the Bumkins bibs the best. They can be rinsed off in the sink and they dry by the next meal, so you really only need two or three.

We use plastic (not plastic backed, but plastic like the baby bjorn bibs) from IKEA. They are great, since my sone always would pull his bibs into his mouth (no matter how stiff they were/coated in vinyl, etc) but with these he doesn't have any interest in doing it. They're also easy to clean.

I also won't feed him in an outfit I couldn't stand to have a stain in, if/when he gets food on himself. :) We did naked baby food time for a while as well, before he *understood* what was going on with food and feeding.

Sally Huss from Wal-Mart. I've tried som many different types & these are the best we've found, for us. You can wipe them down with a sponge or something like that, plus you can wash them too. I usually use it for a few days & then throw it in the wash. We have 2 of them & 1 for DD's daycare. The crumb catcher is great & they are less than $4 each. :) I didn't like the cloth type of bibs at all cause DD is a self feeder now (MESSY!) & I had to put them in the wash every day.

I tried the plastic smocks and my DD hated them. She also hates the Baby Bjorn bibs and she really doesn't like the bumkins ones either. And *I* hate undressing her before every meal.

Through this board I was turned on to the better bibs and we both love them. They are expensive, but well worth it IMO.

I just bought one of the Sally Huss bibs and am thinking that I need a few more bibs. I was thinking two better bibs and a bumkin bib.

How many bibs do you need for a messy toddler (13 months and LOVES self-feeding!)

Another vote for Bumkins long-sleeved bibs! I love ours and haven't had any stained clothing for a long long time :).
