Please say it ain't so! I think Lil'bit is finally getting ready to wean and I am sooo not ready! "stomp stomp whine whine!" my baby is growing up!

Anyhow....I dont know whether its because she has a cold and just doesnt want to suck because its harder to breathe, or if she is really through. Help!
I have tried everything I can think of and am running out of ideas. We nurse in the same spot and on pretty much the same schedule. In my room on the bed usually with dim lights. I have tried a necklace or something for her to hold. I have waited patiently while she played on the bed and was ready. Avioded most distractions etc.

Tonight she barely nursed before bed, only had one side in the morning, and then the other before nap time, and only one other time after that. Usually she is a piggy in the mornings or overnight and not today. Is it just the cold? (she is just getting over croup and still has a runny nose and congestion) She eats solids pretty well though her appetite is a little low. Should I just suck it up and quit? Oh someone please help me know what to do! :(

Could be the cold, definitely. Though three sessions a day is still something -- you could continue like that for as long as you want! It's certainly not an all or nothing proposition.

i bet it is the cold! keep trying. maybe try to suction her nose (with some saline nasal spray and the bulb) right before you nurse to see if that clears her breathing a little?? we nursed 3x/day at 11 months (i think we started 3x/day around 10 months) and we went to 2x/day at 12 months. 1x/day at 13 months and then weaned at 14 months. so you can take it very slowly and still keep nursing. (not suggesting that you wean!!!! just saying that you don't have to nurse all day to keep the relationship going.)

i would hang in there at least for a few more weeks! you are almost at the one year mark!! yay!!

DD gets like that when she has a cold. She'll also pop off a lot just to breath since her nose is stuffy. If it were me I'd keep at it and see if it continues a few weeks after the cold. Right now your milk will help her get better faster, so I wouldn't give up just yet.

Hope she feels better soon!

Logan is like that when she has a cold. I try to time the doses of decongestant so she is not stuffy for nursing, especially for bedtime.

It should pick back up after her stuffiness is gone.
