Take n toss cup - straw question

DD has taken to using the Take N Toss cups, but I'm having issues with the straws. Everytime I put the straw in the lid and pop the lid on the cup, the milk pours out the top of the straw. Is there a "correct procedure" for this cup, so the milk doesn't come out the top?

You can either put the straw in after you put on the lid or pull the straw up above the liquid line until you put the lid on. Another note, if you are going to put it in the fridge for later, pull the straw up above the liquid line when you take it out of the fridge for a few minutes to give the cold air inside a chance to expand. That would be a lesson learned the hard way. ;) On the plus side, they really do a good job of being "no-spill" and they last forever.
