I thought that everything was moving along quite smoothly with the weaning process. DS was only nursing 2x a day (only before nap and bedtime). That was before he gained the ability to tell me what he wants with the ol' point-and-whine. Now he tries to take my top off or will stick his hand down shirt and cry until I nurse him. It's frustrating because I am so ready to be done breastfeeding him. I keep hoping that he'll self-wean, but he's such a milkasauras. What do I do???

Distract, distract, distract. Offer something else instead of giving him the breast (it's not a great choice, but I've found that popsicles work really well for this -- I use Stonyfield organic yogurt tubes that is stick in the freezer), or go outside to the park or do an activity that focuses on something where you are not the main attraction.

I had the same problem with DD. I used to give her a sippy cup of Keifer (which she LOVED) instead and that worked some of the time. DD was about the age of your DS when we finally stopped. I just didn't nurse her one day and she didn't ask for it!

I also had to give her milk in a bottle instead of a cup for a while ... we are trying to get off of that now :)

HTH & good luck!
