DD is gobbling up every bit of food we give her (she is just over 7 months)! We've done sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, apples, pears, and bananas, along with cereal. Is there a rule of thumb or website that gives advice on when to introduce new foods? Such as: sweet potatoes at 6 months, peaches at 7 months, broccoli at 8 months, etc.

Thanks very much!

This page on kellymom.com is useful: http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/solids/first-foods.html.

We mostly didn't follow any strict guidelines when introducing food to E. We waited a bit with some foods (e.g. wheat, eggs, and dairy products), but otherwise didn't follow a list for fruits and veggies.

Just keep offering her a variety.... there is no exact way to intro solids really. Once she is doing well with the regulars then maybe start letting her try the foods you are eating mashed up of course! Just wait till 9 months or older for yogurt and cheese. wait 3 to 5 days to see if there is any reaction to a new food before you give her something new! Keep in mind she doesn't have to eat food from a jar or just simple pureed foods.... both my boys started eating mashed up table foods fairly early..... we never gave them meat from a jar at all. They liked the table food much better than jarred foods and we had no trouble transitioning them to more varied/chunkier texture cause they had already tasted those foods so it wasn't a new flavor AND a new texture!

Good luck
