I am giving my 6 month old 4 bottles a day- about 1 every 4 hours. THey are all 6 oz. bottles. Is 24 oz. enough for her at this age? Should I start giving 1 bottle of formula? This is all the milk I am pumping right now?

FWIW, DD's pediatrician told me at her 6 mo appt that she should get between 24-34 oz milk per day (5-6 bottles) until about 8 months when we increased solids to 3x/day and increased the amounts of solids (and basically cut out 2 bottles/day). (That was her recommendation for formula.)

When I was still BFing at her 4 month appt a different pediatrician just told me to pay attention to whether she was sucking her bottles dry and seemed interested in more. So I guess for the BM I would look at that. If she seems satisfied, you're probably fine. Are you bottle feeding BM exclusively rather than nursing? I know that when you're nursing, your supply is supposed to adapt to baby's demands, but I'm not sure you get the same effect when pumping, KWIM?

Hope that helps a little bit!
