Like Gymboree, for example? I love to see what pieces people like from new lines, etc. How do you get the pics from the site to show in your post? Thx!

One way to do it is to right click on the picture you'd like to display and select 'Properties'. You will see the URL of the image. Copy the entire URL and then paste it into the body of your message. That was a short and sweet explanation; just let me know if you need more details.

There are two ways to do it. One way is to get the URL of the picture and copy it into your post. It will show up as the picture. To get the URL, right click on the picture and look at "properties".

The other way is to right click on the picture, save it on your computer, and then attach it to your post here, using the "click here to choose your attachments" at the bottom of the reply window. Take the selection for JPEG and select "Check this box if you wish to embed attachment URL in the message text box."

There are pros and cons of each way. The first way is using the bandwidth of the site where the image lives. And it also may place a cookie everytime someone reads the thread.

The second way uses bandwidth here on this site. That is the responsible way to do this, since the other way is technically stealing bandwidth. However, there are copyright issues with doing it that way. It's not legal to take images from a site and copy them to another site.

It's a grey area as to whether linking to the other site is a copyright violation or not. It probably is if the image displays here, but not if just a link to the image displays here.

I don't get the "click here to choose your attachments" window anymore. Is this a temporary thing or do we have to steal bandwith now?

I thought I'd also put this out there for Mac/Safari users -

If you put your pointer on the picture while holding down the Control button, you will get a window where you can select Copy Image Address.

Come back to your post, hold down the Control button again, and select Paste.

I had bookmarked this post in the past so I went right to it - I didn't notice the new updates with the server issues:

Until we have a top-notch server again, we suggest that all graphics uploads stop. You can always use Photobucket or a similar service to link to a picture, and no one would be the wiser that it is not embedded into your post. This does not apply to lilypies/tickers/ribbons because those are links to other sites. <fairy>

You will first need to sign up with Photobucket or a similar photo sharing service. Once you have uploaded your pics to this service you can copy the URL link for the pic and paste it into your post here. Same can be done for your avatar pic. Just paste the URL into the appropriate place in the the your user menu <elliput>

Sorry!
